Bachelor of Arts in Economics

As a universal subject, economics at the American University in Cairo provides students with the job skills necessary to critically assess the market economy, using both regional and global perspectives. Students gain an appreciation of the interdependence of world economic systems, while critically examining the connection between theory and the main features of economic policy.

The Department of Economics offers both a major and minor in economics. Choosing to major in economics enables the student to explore the fundamentals of economic theory, as well as its rich arrays of applications and fields. Students choosing economics as a minor are exposed to the basic economic principles and applications.

A Unique Learning Experience
