Faculty Training on Service Learning on September 1
The Ma’an Arab University Alliance for Civic Engagement is holding its first faculty training on the topic of Service Learning from September 1 to 3 at the Tim Sullivan Lounge, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Hall, AUC New Cairo.
During the all-day event, faculty members from universities
across the region are invited to participate in training sessions that aim to
bolster youth potential through civic engagement by addressing economic and
social challenges and finding sustainable solutions. Twenty faculty members will be attending from universities from
across the region, including Tunisia, Palestine, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates,
Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
The workshop provides participants with tools and methods
that foster academic learning through student service, along with meaningful
community engagement. This workshop will develop participants’ ability to embed
civic engagement in the university curricula via service learning programs and
will provide various models and program experiences.
