Professors Aly Erfan and Karim Haggag are set to assume a new role as co-managing editors of the Cairo Review of Global Affairs succeeding founding managing editor Professor Scott MacLeod.
Dean of GAPP, Nabil Fahmy, expressed his gratitude for MacLeod, who will now return to full-time teaching. Fahmy noted that MacLeod has contributed greatly to the development of the journal despite numerous challenges including the turbulent times of change in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Professors Aly Erfan and Karim Haggag will start their new role as of July 1, 2017.
Professor Erfan is a professor of practice in GAPP’s department of public policy and administration. He is also a career Egyptian diplomat with thirty years of experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the League of Arab States.
Professor Haggag, meanwhile, will join the school of GAPP as a professor of practice in the department of public policy and administration and the Middle East Studies Center in July 2017. As an Egyptian diplomat, he served as the director of the Egyptian Press and Information Office in Washington D.C. and in the Office of the Presidency in Cairo.
