JRMC Winners in the Broadcast Education Assn. (BEA) On Location Audio Awards: Sept. 21-23 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Broadcast Education Assn.’s (BEA) On Location Conference will take place Sept. 21-23, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The student award winners are:

Yasmine Hassan, Yasmine Shaheen and Farah Tawfeek (MMJ, Fall '16)
JRMC 4480 Multimedia Journalism Capstone Group Project (Fall '16)
Excluded and Forgotten

This is the second awards recognition for Excluded and Forgotten; having been a finalist in the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Regional Competition in the In-Depth Reporting category.

In the student audio competition for the BEA On Location Conference, two JRMC students have received recognition:

Abdallah AbdelDayem has been short-listed for two upcoming student audio competitions for his audio documentary "More Than Just a Game: A Documentary about Professional Video Gaming in Egypt":

This is the fourth awards recognition for Abdallah, having previously received first Place BEA's for Student Audio in the Educational Program category.
The bronze award at the New York Festival World's Best Radio Programs 2017: Best Student Documentary

Finally, three students in the MMJ Capstone from Spring 2017 had their work published in Egypt Today. The project is titled #HerEconPower and the content was produced by Nour Ibrahim, Mariam El Menoufi and Omar El-Kashawy.
