The President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas Contributes to the Fall Issue of the Cairo Review of Global Affairs

 The Fall 2017 edition of the Cairo Review of Global Affairs features a Special Report on the Question of Palestine Palestine’s Century of Conflict, on the occasion of the centenary of the Balfour Declaration (1917) and 70 years since the adoption of the Partition Resolution by the UN General Assembly (1947) and 50 years since the Security Council adopted Resolution 242 (1967). The lead essay “Lord Balfour’s Burden” by President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, marks the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration by calling on the British Government to apologize for a document that launched a century of dispossession and suffering for the Palestinian people. The issue also includes essays by a number of other very prominent authors, including Nabil El Araby former Secretary General of the Arab League and Foreign Minister of Egypt, Nabil Fahmy former Foreign Minister of Egypt, Miguel Ángel Moratinos the European Union's first Envoy for Middle East peace and former Foreign Minister of Spain and Nasser Judeh former Deputy Prime and Foreign Minister of Jordan.
