20 Countries across Africa Particicpated in The 51st African Journalists Workshop.

The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism and the AUC JRMC Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized the 51st African Journalists Workshop in association with the Union of African Journalists on Thursday May 3, 2018.

Journalists who attended the one-day workshop came from 20 countries across Africa, namely Angola, Algeria, Botswana, Chad, Cote d’ Ivoire, Democratic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tunis, Togo,Tanzania, and Uganda.

The workshop covered topics related to Print Media Analytics, Newspaper Management in the Digital Age, and Print Media Research. The sessions were delivered by Dr. Hussein Amin, Professor and Director of the Kamal Adham Center, Dr. Rasha Allam, Associate Chair and Assistant Professor, and Dr. Hesham Dinana, Assistant Professor.

The bi-annual workshop comes within the framework of UAJ's and JRMC's role to train African cadres in the field of journalism to benefit all African countries. The training program that started in 1992 under the supervision of Dr. Hussein Amin, has now developed into a network of journalists who have been trained at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo, and work all over African media.
