The mission of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism is to be a catalyst in advancing the quality of journalism, by preparing graduate students for broadcast careers, with training in our professional development program and engaging in conversations on media through our journal, Arab Media & Society. The center is a vehicle for AUC TV, the student-run television channel.

The center’s master’s in television and digital journalism is unique for its focus on all aspects of reporting and production in the fast-paced, technology-driven world of digital news delivery. Our graduate students are trained in reporting, interviewing, new media and studio production, gaining hands-on experience with the use of the center’s field cameras, state-of-the-art television studios, editing labs and a fully automated newsroom.

The Professional Development Program is designed for working professionals who want to learn the skills of television and digital journalism. We offer five-week workshops in camera operation, video editing, studio directing, news reporting, voice coaching, photography, and documentary filmmaking. The Kamal Adham Center also arranges custom-designed courses and training to news organizations, educational institutions, civil society and governmental bodies.

New Now! Online Digital Media Diploma in Arabic. The diploma is intended to provide knowledge and practice of new and digital media. Students completing the program will have a working familiarization with all of the skills required of a digital journalist who can master any job in the online and digital journalism field.

Arab Media & Society is a primary resource on the region’s dynamic media landscape, offering quality reporting, research, and analysis, extending beyond news to include arts and entertainment, social media and technology. Arab Media & Society publishes biannual issues of media scholarship, in addition to regular analysis pieces, podcasts, reports, long-form journalism and narrative writing.

AUC TV is the university broadcast station administered by undergraduate and graduate students, under the supervision of the Director of the Kamal Adham Center. It is an integral part of the center in the New Cairo campus. The station broadcasts through closed-circuit, a website, and a YouTube channel. It is served by production units from courses offered by the center.
