  Registration now open: Arabic STEAM MOOC

The first Arabic Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) (Science, Technology. Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education is now open for registration. The title of the MOOC is "STEAM: Integrating Education with Life". The core idea of STEAM education is to provide interdisciplinary meaningful experiences.This is a collaborative work between the Graduate School of Education and Edraak online platform.  Distinguished Visiting Professor Nasser Mansour to join GSE in Spring 2017

With a generous gift from the Office of the Provost, GSE is pleased to be hosting a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Exeter University in the UK. Dr. Mansour is a Senior Lecturer in Science Education and has significant experience in developing, managing, and studying science education programs throughout the world. Dr. Mansour will be supporting GSE in its efforts to increase its capacity for STEAM education.

The Student Affairs Leadership Seminar offers an interactive and intellectually stimulating environment where educators will engage in challenging debates, learn through hands-on activities and draw upon real-life case studies in order to perceive a more concrete view of the main contributors to a holistic student development experience. The workshop consists of four-day intensives (Friday/Saturday) over two weeks with potential out-of-class assignments/case studies between meetings. 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM: 'Communities Conceptualized: A Conference on The Definitions, Perspectives, and Approaches To Community'is the name of this year's Annual Research conference, part of the AUC Research Week. It will be held from April 5 - 6, 2017. Themes of the conference includes the following: Understanding, defining, and conceptualizing community.Community institutions: businesses, schools, universities, mosques, churches, recreational facilities, public spaces.Community engagement: how businesses, government, and educational institutions identify and work with particular communities. Intellectual communities: communities of practice in modern organizations, artistic and literary communities in an age of social media.Research methods, challenges, and strategies for community-focused research. The community as classroom. Developing learning cultures in organizations and communities; creating communities of improvement and growth. Science and the community: how scientists are engaging the community for local solutions to everyday problems.Creating communities from scratch: how research can guide Egypt in the development of the new capital city, as well as many other new emerging communities throughout the country and the region.
