LIBRARY 24 hour access policy
To enhance and improve their learning experience at AUC, the library will be providing 24-hour services, to enable students to study and work in a collegiate and safe environment and in a flexible manner. The Garden and Plaza levels of the Main Library will be open daily to accommodate the needs of the students and other members of the AUC community (faculty, staff and students) with a valid ID card. For safety and security reasons, the group study rooms on these levels will be closed at 10 pm.
However, the library will be closed on official and religious holidays and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for maintenance of the facility.
We expect users to respect the space, their colleagues and use the library furniture and equipment. Misuse of equipment or furniture including moving them, will not be tolerated. Users whose conduct would hinder or obstruct this will be dealt with in a professional manner (in accordance with the university and library policies & procedures) by security staff.
Sleeping (not including incidental napping which is allowed) for an extended period of time, lying down, sleeping on a couch, floor or other surfaces, excessive use of seating or space that interferes with priority usage, is not allowed in the library for safety and security reasons.
We also look forward to user's cooperation with the university and library staff. They are available for long hours to assist users and ensure that it is a safe and clean facility that is conductive to learning and study.
Please make sure not to leave your personal belongings. Lost items are the responsibility of the of the users not the library.
