Positioning the Population Challenges
and their Recommended Policies in the New Egypt

This is a two-day meeting (26-27 December 2011) to position the population challenges within the new context of Egypt. The meeting responds to the current Egyptian context and the renewed calls for revisiting population and women empowerment policies. The objective of the meeting is to provide a forum for presenting scientific evidence and engage with different stakeholders’ perspectives. The final goal is to move towards a more informed consensus on how to position the population challenges and to recommend evidence-based policies. This scientific event is an activity of a collaborative project between the regional office of UNFPA and the Social Research Center – American University in Cairo (SRC/AUC).
