Fundamentals of Classroom Assessment
This course is designed to empower teachers with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to manage classroom assessment to enhance student learning. The overall aim of this course is to link classroom assessment to instruction. Accordingly, it focuses on the main concepts of assessment and assessment quality, the types and purposes of classroom assessments, the methods and strategies used to assess learning, and the decisions that may be taken by teachers in light of classroom assessment practices. The course outcomes are aligned with the Standards for Teacher Competence in Educational Assessment of Students (AFT, NCME, NEA, 1990) and Classroom Assessment Standards for PreK-12 Teachers (The Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation, 2015).

*One Continuing Education Unit equals 10 contact hours.
Multiple evidence of learners’ learning is recorded throughout a set of well-planned tasks and assignments during the course. All these formative assessments (for- and as learning assessment) are meant to allow a room for further learning through the total marks account for the final grade.
