Mobile Communications
This program is an introduction to wireless communication and GSM network architecture is explored in details. Multiple access techniques and CDMA and WCDMA are provided. CDMA2000 technologies are introduced and explained in detail.  2G and 3G mobile cellular systems are highlighted and explored and UMTS 3G is emphasized in the program. WIMAX, which is an emerging technology in connecting remote sites by wireless communication, and the LTE system, which is a required technology in cellular systems today, are comprehensively explored.

This program is for individuals who seek knowledge of cellular system technologies that will permit them to work as communication junior engineers, cellular system specialist  or wish to pursue work with the most well-known operators (Vodafone, Mobinil, Etisalat), or Vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Siemens, Huawei, Alcatel). Also, this program benefits third year communication students who have a basic knowledge of analog communications and students who will work on wireless communication projects.

Admission Requirements

  • All courses require the use of Windows-based computers and applications software in SCE labs for home assignments, presentations and projects.
