What is the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program?

This is a globally recognized certificate that supports management accounting and finance professionals who drive business performance inside organizations. The CMA program is an advanced-level curriculum requiring candidates to demonstrate knowledge of accounting, finance and related fields. 

The CMA program is composed of two parts: 

Part I: Financial Planning, Performance, and Analytics

What is the CMA examination? 

The CMA exam is designed to develop and measure critical thinking and decision-making skills. All exams are computer-based with multiple choice and essay questions.

What are the requirements for enrolling in the CMA program? 

  • Passing an English exam*
  • Copy of graduation certificate
  • Two passport photos
  • Copy of student ID

*AUC alumni, students and graduates of English sections are not required to pass the English exam.

Where and when is the CMA exam given?

All examinations are offered by Prometric, a worldwide network of testing centers. The exam is offered according to the following schedule:

  • January and February
  • May and June
  • September and October

The scores will be mailed approximately six weeks after the end of the month during which the applicant took the test.

How much will it cost to apply for the CMA program at AUC? 

  • Part One: LE 11,550
  • Part Two: LE 10,350
  • Registration Fees: LE 150

What are the registration fees for a CMA examination? 

  • IMA membership $245 (annual)
  • Application fee $15 (for new members)
  • Certification entrance fee $250 (one-time fee)
  • Exam per part $415

How can I be certified as a CMA? 

  To be certified as a CMA, candidates must fulfill both educational and professional experience requirements as follows:

  • Holder of bachelor’s degree in any area from an accredited college or university
  • Two consecutive years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management, to be completed within seven years of passing the examination
