Pre-Semester Survival Arabic
The course covers a variety of familiar everyday expressions aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Learners will develop the ability to introduce themselves and ask and answer questions about personal details; handle interactions such as taking a taxi, asking and giving directions; dealing with money; shopping for food, clothes, etc… and emergencies. Though Arabic letters are included, the emphasis is on the development of the learner’s speaking and listening skills.
This is an intensive 20-hour course in spoken Arabic of Cairo, offered twice a year before the fall and spring semesters to International students joining AUC.
